En fait, certains sugg\u00e8rent que la question ne devrait plus \u00eatre : <em>\u201cPourquoi \u00eates-vous v\u00e9g\u00e9tarien ou v\u00e9g\u00e9talien\u00a0?\u201d<\/em> mais\u00a0plut\u00f4t :<em> \u201cPourquoi ne l\u2019\u00eates-vous pas ?\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Des recherches ont \u00e9tabli un lien entre v\u00e9g\u00e9tarisme et long\u00e9vit\u00e9. Selon une \u00e9tude conduite par l\u2019universit\u00e9 de Loma Linda, les v\u00e9g\u00e9tariens et les v\u00e9g\u00e9taliens vivent environ et respectivement sept et quinze ans de plus que les mangeurs de viande <em>(The Compassionate Diet).<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Un r\u00e9gime alimentaire v\u00e9g\u00e9tarien ou v\u00e9g\u00e9talien, d\u00e8s lors qu\u2019il est compos\u00e9 d\u2019aliments complets et nourrissants, a un impact d\u00e9terminant sur la sant\u00e9. Pour s\u2019assurer d\u2019une bonne sant\u00e9, il ne suffit pas seulement de faire le choix d\u2019aliments qui ne contiennent pas de produits d\u2019origine animale. Apr\u00e8s tout, parmi les biscuits qui connaissent un grand succ\u00e8s certains sont v\u00e9g\u00e9taliens. D\u00e9cider de consommer des fruits et des l\u00e9gumes sera toujours un bien meilleur choix que celui qui consiste \u00e0 nous laisser aller \u00e0 nos envies de friandises.<\/p>\n<p>En plus de pr\u00e9server notre sant\u00e9, l\u2019adoption du r\u00e9gime v\u00e9g\u00e9tarien a un effet positif sur notre environnement. Si, d\u2019ici \u00e0 2050, le monde se tournait vers des r\u00e9gimes alimentaires reposant moins sur la consommation de viande et davantage sur celle de l\u00e9gumes, de fruits et d\u2019autres aliments d\u2019origine v\u00e9g\u00e9tale, ce changement entra\u00eenerait une r\u00e9duction des deux-tiers des \u00e9missions de gaz \u00e0 effet de serre li\u00e9es \u00e0 l\u2019alimentation.<\/p>\n<p><em>Quels bienfaits pour la sant\u00e9 retire-t-on du fait de devenir v\u00e9g\u00e9tarien ?<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Selon une publication de la facult\u00e9 de m\u00e9decine de Harvard\u00a0:<em> \u201cLe r\u00e9gime \u00e0 base d\u2019aliments d\u2019origine v\u00e9g\u00e9tale peut non seulement satisfaire nos besoins nutritionnels mais \u00e9galement r\u00e9duire le risque de survenance d\u2019un grand nombre de maladies chroniques\u201d<\/em> (Harvard Health, 4 d\u00e9cembre 2017). Dans l\u2019une des plus importantes \u00e9tudes men\u00e9es sur la question, qui a elle-m\u00eame compil\u00e9es les donn\u00e9es provenant de cinq autres \u00e9tudes auxquelles ont particip\u00e9 plus de 76\u00a0000 personnes, il est affirm\u00e9 que les v\u00e9g\u00e9tariens ont 25 % moins de chances de mourir d\u2019une maladie du c\u0153ur. En outre, des recherches semblent indiquer qu\u2019un r\u00e9gime alimentaire compos\u00e9 principalement d\u2019aliments d\u2019origine v\u00e9g\u00e9tale conduirait \u00e0 r\u00e9duire de 50 % le risque d\u2019\u00eatre atteint par un diab\u00e8te de type 2.<\/p>\n<p>Le r\u00e9gime alimentaire v\u00e9g\u00e9tarien est incontestablement bien meilleur pour la sant\u00e9 que le r\u00e9gime alimentaire am\u00e9ricain ordinaire. Les v\u00e9g\u00e9taux ont une faible teneur en acides gras satur\u00e9s et contiennent une grande quantit\u00e9 des vitamines et des min\u00e9raux essentiels n\u00e9cessaires \u00e0 un \u00e9tat de sant\u00e9 optimal. De nombreuses \u00e9tudes ont \u00e9galement d\u00e9montr\u00e9 qu\u2019un r\u00e9gime \u00e0 base d\u2019aliments d\u2019origine v\u00e9g\u00e9tale est susceptible de diminuer les risques de se voir atteint par un cancer, la maladie d\u2019Alzheimer, une maladie du c\u0153ur, de l\u2019hypertension art\u00e9rielle et un diab\u00e8te de type 2.<\/p>\n<p><em>En quoi le fait de devenir v\u00e9g\u00e9tarien contribue-t-il \u00e0 une bonne sant\u00e9 mentale et \u00e9motionnelle\u00a0?<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Le r\u00e9gime alimentaire v\u00e9g\u00e9tarien \u00e0 un effet apaisant ; il am\u00e9liore notre \u00e9tat de sant\u00e9 mental et \u00e9motionnel. Deux \u00e9tudes publi\u00e9es en 2010 et en 2012 dans le <em>\u201cNutitional journal\u201d <\/em>rapportent que, apr\u00e8s deux semaines, les personnes qui mangeaient habituellement de la viande et du poulet chaque jour \u00e9taient, d\u00e8s lors qu\u2019elles adoptaient un r\u00e9gime alimentaire v\u00e9g\u00e9tarien, de meilleure humeur et moins stress\u00e9es.<\/p>\n<p>Une \u00e9tude portant sur la sant\u00e9 mentale et l\u2019humeur des v\u00e9g\u00e9tariens et des consommateurs de viande a \u00e9t\u00e9 publi\u00e9e dans le <em>\u201cNutitional journal\u201d<\/em>.
